Testing Requirements: -
The Goggles meet the requirements of the following tests as specified by ANSI Z 87.1- 2003
High Velocity Impact test: -
It is capable of resisting impact from a 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) diameter steel ball fired at a velocity of 45.7 mps or 150 fps at specified parts of the PC lens & is tested by placing sample eyewear on a head form. Neither any part or fragment ejected from the protector comes in contact with an eye nor does the impact cause any sort of contact with either eye.
The Z-87.1-2003 (+) compliance:
The goggle models meet both physical and optical requirements of the ANSI Z87.1-2003
Standard as High Impact Protectors/Lenses. The “+” marking identifies thatthe eyewear complies with the High Impact testing requirements as described in the standard (See High Mass Impact test below).
High Mass Impact test: -
It is tested by placing a sample eyewear on a head form & a pointed projectile weighing 500 gm (17.6 ounces) is dropped from a height of 127 cm (50.0 inches). It is capable of resisting such impact, and no parts or fragments ejected from the eyewear contact an eye of the head form.
Minimum Thickness & Penetration test: -
The plastic lens is not less than 2 mm (.079 inches) thick & is capable of resisting |
